The women in my family have stayed at The Sandcastle every year for the past 42 years and have loved it, until this past year. I've never been more disappointed in the condition and services of any place I've stayed.
The room doors did not have the proper seals (I could see the sunlight through cracks where the doors were supposed to meet the door frames. There was rust on the inside of the doors and what appeared to be mold around the AC vents.
I went to fill the ice bucket and the two machines I was directed to use were both empty. I went to the front desk & was told there was an ice machine in a 4-story building that was empty too. I finally went to the dining area where the staff was customer-service oriented, apologetic, & filled the ice bucket.
It's very disappointing to see a place so loved through the years by my family & me, in such bad shape, with apathetic front desk staff, especially when paying $200.00+ per night.
