Quirky pub next to Rugby club in Keynsham.
The building is over 300 years old so some rooms do not have mains plumbing (we were in Room 2, the quad room) and have saniflows. This isn’t too bad but does mean the bathrooms smells (we didn’t use it for anything that might smell).
The shower cubicle is tiny and shower very weak. But otherwise the room was good. Bed was huge and comfortable, room clean with nice pillows and a wireless phone charger.
One point to beware of the Breakfast. During booking on hotels.com, I was offered breakfast for two at a cost of £12. Which I took as it seemed a good deal and I often find pub breakfasts to be good. When we checked in, we were advised that everything we need for breakfast is in our room…individual cornflakes, sealed croissants and jam etc. I was disappointed as this isn’t clear on booking. In addition, signage at the hotel said breakfast was £5 each, not 6.
We didn’t eat here but did have a couple of beers before going out out. Staff were very friendly but the pub is tiny so I could see it getting crowded later on at night.
Overall a nice place but don’t expect premier inn style rooms, it’s quite dar away from that standard. I would expect a little more for £120 a night (noting we had the biggest room).
