We booked this B & B based on reviews saying it was in a location close to the airport, the facitlities were very nice, the breakfast was good, etc, etc. We read hundreds ( maybe thousands) of reviews as we do a lot of travelling. We also write hundreds of reviews, always trying our best to give an honest, fair review. We rarely get "burned" but this one topped that short list!!!!!!! We had booked the hotel a month in advance of our arrival. A week or so before we were departing, we emailed the Villa Catalina to see if they had an airport shuttle or could arrange taxi service. We received no reply, after 3 resends and that told us something about the place. When we arrived in Managua late in the evening on Mar.2, 2017; we showed the taxi driver our confirmation from Expedia and as he started to drive us there, he went into DETAIL EXPLAINING how bad the area was. Because it was so late, we decided that we would make the best of the location thinking that the place itself was nice based on reviews. When we got to the place, the taxi driver made sure we were safely inside the gate before he drove away. As we were lead into the reception area
( and let me tell you it takes a lot to call this place's reception area that cause it was in a state of disarray with construction materials, etc. all over the place. When the lady checked their reservations?, there was nothing for us. We showed her the confirmation and she blamed Expedia for the error. (our comments cont'd in next section)
