Holiday Inn Express Solana Beach-Del Mar

Older property that shows some wear. I particularly object to having to pay for parking, this should be part of the room rate. Internet was spotty. Noise was an issue. Probably would not stay here again.

Everything was lovely. We had a jetted tub in the bedroom! The only that wasn’t so great was an off smell on the second floor near the pool area and dirty looking carpet in the hallways.

This is the worst Holiday Inn I have ever experienced. It is old and not well maintained. It says volumes about the management at this particular hotel. The air is unhealthy in the hotel rooms. HVAC system has not been cleaned or maintained properly. In a pandemic triggered by a respiratory virus, how well should the HVAC system be maintained? Why does toxic smoke enter the room and make the occupants cough and make it difficult to breathe? Internet continuously disconnects and makes it difficult to do any work.

Our stay was great. Room was clean, the grab n' go breakfast was more then we expected and the staff was always friendly and ready to help.

Great location - so clean- rooms very nice ama so spacious - loved the deck.

Parked the car for the 2 night stay (just know that as of Nov 2020 it is a $11 per night parking) and was able to walk to everything we wanted to do. Beach is within 3 to 5 minute walk. We were able to have Pizza one night and Italian the next all within a quick walk. There was a convenient store near by, although I would suggest finding a different one. There was plenty of local shops to see and it was a quite area for us. I would do this place again in a heartbeat.

I don't recommend anyone stay on the 2nd floor. My first night was pleasant although the heater did not work well so it was chilly. The next 3 nights I had a couple above me that was fighting every night from 10pm until 3:30am 3 nights in a row. Could hear everything they were saying and throwing things around. I called the front desk the first night but they continued on. The ceiling must be too thin because you hear every step they take and everything they say which made extremely long nights! They also do not tell you that parking is a additional $11 a day when you book. Can't say I'll stay there again.

Friendly staff, central location by restaurants and shops. Everything was clean and all amenities and breakfast included. We had a wonderful stay!

Carpet smells. Lobby and hallway smells. Cleanliness is Ok but could be better. Beds are comfortable and new towels are great.
