St. Petersburg Marriott Clearwater

The first room we got was dirty. Nasty stuff in the sink, toilet seat was dirty, the mini fridge still had stuff in it. There was a hole in the wall behind the door. We called and complained. They sent housekeeping who went in with a wash cloth and no cleaning supplies and wiped it down. Not covid sanitary. They gave us another room. This room was ok. The bed was the most unfortunate bed I have ever slept in.it was too firm and It was so loud and squeaky just to sit or lay down. The rooms r very dated. The coffee maker had no filter piece and didn’t work. The shower head was rusted and didn’t work properly. Let’s just say I’m very disappointed in Merriot for charging this amount of money and having less then par rooms. Especially with covid I expected much more!!! Also the floor smelled like someone was smoking weed. The whole floor smelled this way. It was an upset for my husband and I and I DONOT recommend this place!!

The room itself was nice. However the floor in front of the refrigerator was stiicky. My sister took a wet wash rag and cleaned the area and the rag was black. In between the beds were crumbs that could be felt when walking in you bare feet. There we no tissues and no bag for dirty clothes. The counter in the bathroom was also dirty. I do have photos of the rag and crumbs. I was also disappointed that the grab and go breakfast had no bag to carry the food out.

The room was not clean when we arrived. There was still trash from the last guest. The toilet was inoperable our entire stay. The grab and go breakfast was laughable because it was too much of a hassle to actually stock the area. The food was behind the clerks desk and she could not bother to stock the shelves. Fortunately we were only in town for one night and did not spend much time at the hotel. On a positive note, the beds were extremely comfortable and I like that they have the upgraded smart TVs with the ability to watch Netflix. They offered showtime on depend for free.

Hotel appearance looked nice. One of the beds had a large stain on the white bedding and carpet was a bit dirty.

Everything was fine. But the picture on the website shows a full refrigerator and freezer and it was a mini fridge. And the whole floor shares a microwave.

Hotel was nice and clean..not much for breakfast(muffin/orange juice)...”free” airport shuttle didn’t start until 7am, plane left at 6:40am...

Very comfortable! Room was top of the line. Great service and very nice place to stay. Highly recommend!

I’ve stayed at this location several times over the years and couldn’t believe how much it has declined! The shower was dirty, and you could barely see out of the windows as they were covered in grime. We paid extra for the continental breakfast but when we went to the room where it has always been served on the 9th floor, a sign on the door said it was not available due to restrictions from COVID-19. It wasn’t until that night when we returned to the hotel and I mentioned this to the desk clerk that she told me a “grab and go” selection was available in a nook around the corner from the front desk. Nobody informed us of this upon check-in. When we returned to our room after being gone all day, the beds weren’t made, the trash hadn’t been emptied and the towels we used were still damp and hadn’t been replaced. It turns out there is no cleaning until you check out. 🙄 The next morning, we went down for breakfast (that was supposed to be available until 11:00am) at 9:45am and they were out of OJ and one of the two types of breakfast sandwiches. Also there was only enough coffee in the dispenser for a half a cup. I asked if more coffee was available and a man in a chef’s uniform said he’d bring some right out. I waited a few minutes and he did indeed bring out a full carafe and said, “Here you go. Freshly made.” Then he walked away. I got a fresh cup and poured a cup from the carafe and it was room temperature. Overall, this was NOT what we’ve come to expect from Marriott! 😡

This hotel was just ok. I got a king suite & while the size of the room was nice, it was pretty much filled with random old furniture. The only thing in the room that was probably bought in the 2000’s was the tv
