Freycinet Lodge

Es gibt Dinge im Leben, da setzt jemand Maßstäbe und man ist sich nicht mehr sicher, ob die alte Skala 1-10 nun noch ausreicht. Die Rezeption hat uns auf eine der neuen Cabins mit den 70er Nummern upgegradet und wir waren außerordentlich zufrieden mit allem, was wir vorfanden. Gleich vorab - wir haben KEINE Cabin mit View (z.B. aufs Meer) gebucht, und das haben diese 6-8 Cabins auch nicht. ABER diese Hotelzimmer wurden von einem schlauen Innenarchitekten designed - Kleiner Treppenaufgang, moderate Farbtöne Canyon am Morgen, rechts weiße Einbauschränke inkl. fridge, links Schwebetüre zu Dusche + WC, mit Fußbodenheizung. Geradeaus - FENSTER 4x4 m - Blick: Wildniss. Bett, Leselampen und USB integriert, St Albans Alpaca-Decke 2x2m - highend feeling, Ledersofa, weitere Mohair-Decke, TV Wandhalterung, schwenkbar, Vor dem Fenster - SUNDECK (Morgensonne) 6x2 m mit 2x Stuhl und Tisch. Und das Highlight, eine 2m² Badewanne - outdoor. Betonbauweise, ruhig, keine Nachbargeräusche. Vollholzparkett und Echtfellvorleger. Sehr gutes Lichtdesign, dimmbar, elektrisches Rollo für Riesenscheibe. Küche - sehr hochwertig, wer richtig Kohle liegen lassen will - 3 stöckige Etagere Fish-Platter für 170$, frische Austern sind günstiger. Diverse Hauptgerichte, effektvoll garniert, Petitfour zum Nachtisch. Auch der Desertkoch versteht sein Handwerk. Und im Personal: Andreas aus Deutschland wäre zZ notfalls eine Übersetzungshilfe. Frühstück - fully cooked - umfangreich - Omlette kann geordert werden.

Super schöne Lodges im Nationalpark. Die Zimmer sind sauber und voll ausgestattet.

Fantastic location - but not 4 star. Place is great for its location and outlook but food options basic, unpolished and rushed. There’s a sense with opportunity shop furniture and fading carpets that this place had its hey day in the 80s. Vegetarian main option includes at $36 a slab of burnt broccoli, so best to bring own supplies. Major revamp needed all around.

We arrived at the Lodge on a very windy day but that didn't deter us from exploring the pristine area around the lodge. The accommodation was fabulous and we felt at one with nature. A little wallaby visited us each afternoon. The room was very clean and the only small frustration was lack of hanging/storage space. Restaurant was very good although breakfast staff were a little uncertain regarding any changes (ie a request for just toast instead of a full cooked breakfast caused some confusion). Would definitely recommend the restaurant for dinner over the cafe but the cafe was great for lunch or coffee. Overall a very enjoyable stay and worth the money to be so close to the wonders of the national park - including Wineglass Bay.

Calm , peaceful, stylish without being pretentious

Check in was a bit awkward as we were given the wrong key and when we went into the cabin there were other people’s belongings everywhere... very lucky those people weren’t in the room at the time! We did, however, enjoy our correct cabin. The bed was super comfy, the room tidy and decor was nice. Bathroom was fantastic! Breakfast was included and though the toast was a little bit too crunchy for my liking, the bacon, eggs, sausages and hash brown was delicious.

We had three lovely days in the pristine Freycinet NP and enjoyed our stay at the lodge very much. spacious comfortable accommodation, very good food and friendly staff.

I found the concierge a little bit rude in his manner. He greeted my daughter and I as though we were a couple of backpackers that didn’t really belong there. He made me walk out in the rain to get my bank card when I had already paid for the accomm. Then apologized when I it back from the car for having made me walk out in the rain. I thought his manner was a little odd and not really accommodating- given the cost of the accommodation- I would have expected a little more service .

We joint a night tour but found it very difficult to drive in woods middle of night since we are just holiday driver and city person. So when we checkin, we tried to explain and ask if there is any options for pickup, front desk manager simply a big no without even listening to our situation. And they did not offer us to get a park pass at counter too, which the next day i found actually the counter can help get a park pass. I think even hotel dun have such service, he can still make some calls to travel agencies, or give us some tips driving through wood at night. others are all nice i would say
