Could be nice, but badly managed
We were early, but were received friendly and given one of our two reserved rooms (condition okay, a bit in need of repair for the terrace door and some paint, but with lots of space), the baggage was brought over, all fine - until, an hour later, we were told we would have to move, because "the current guest does not want to vacate the room". We were placed in two other rooms, half the size of the previous one (though better condition, air con working well) and facing the street above the main entrance, so very noisy over the day (be aware if you book standard room with 'garden view'). At least they tried to meet our request to have two adjoining/interconnecting rooms. However, having eaten at the pool bar (and restaurant in the evening, food is fine, though not 5star) we were approached by the waiter later at the pool, saying we would not have stated the correct room number (of course we did - BEFORE we knew about the move) and reception claiming they did not know about our move so they could not rectify it!
We are aware that we were only staying for one night, so we were certainly not a priority, however, on our last day of the holidays, I was hugely disappointed about the way everything was managed and about a hotel that claims to be 5star. It should have been a treat at the end of our Algarve stay, but finally it cost a lot of money only for spoiling our last day.
