ere happy with our room and it seemed good value, until the kids that were staying in the room upstairs started running laps if their room. The ceilings are paper thin, you can hear every single noise from upstairs.
We went out for some food and when returning, again in pitch black I managed to trip on a broken paving stone. And almost fall through a glass window, twisting my ankle in the process.
Getting any sleep was almost impossible. The ceiling above the the main bed was so creaky with no sound deadening that Its no exaggeration when I say that you can hear literally every footstep from upstairs. We could even tell when the upstairs guests turned over in bed and had to listen to their snoring all night. We could tell every time they got out of ved and went to the toilet (which seened to be abnormally often)
If it was a chain hotel I would have demanded a refund and possibly claimed for the twisted ankle and fall due to the very badly maintained exterior.
My advice to the owner is to put up some lighting and fix the walkways before they face being sued due to someone being seriously injured, and solve the creaky floor/ceiling.
