Best Western Derby Inn

The first room that they put me in had a squealing heater.. I noticed it before I even put my bags down, and so I went right back to the desk to see if they had another room that didn’t squeal available. The young desk clerk acted upset with me ( being covid - they would now have to mark the room as “ unclean” in order to give me a new room). Then he proceeded to tell me that all the heaters make a noise when they start up- and it would go away. I asked him if he would come up to the room himself to heat the sound I was referring to— he acted frustrated with me, but came to the room. He went to the heater and removed some filters and fussed around a bit— it didn’t get any quieter. So I asked him if I could get another room so I could sleep. He said sure and then told me again that he would have to mark this room as unclean. In the end I was placed in a second king suite ( same kind of room as I was booked in) and had a decent rest. The morning front desk clerk was very sweet. So overall the stay was good. I just think the young clerk was not trained well, or was having a tough night.

Nice pool and hot tub that’s where average and comfort they had a Hot and cold breakfast to choose from and staff was very friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay. Very clean, comfortable and the staff was very friendly and welcoming! I would definitely stay there again!

The only issue was that we couldn't get the coffee maker to turn on. Very friendly staff. The breakfast was wonderful. Clean room with lots of amenities.

We enjoyed our stay, loved the snowmobile nostalgia! Clean hotel, they still offer a hot breakfast option.

Let me start off by saying this is a very nice hotel. Great hot tub and pool, very nice rooms. The staff is the problem. When I booked I chose to “pay at the hotel” however, the manager called me and refused to hold my room unless I paid in full even though that wasn’t the option I chose. Secondly, we were there for work and when we came in later the night desk guy was extremely rude. So sad because like I said the quality of the hotel is nice. Staff sucks.

An outstanding BW located in the Chain of Lakes region of Northern Wisconsin. I selected this hotel purely off reviews and it exceeded expectations. The staff is wonderfully helpful, the hotel is nicely decorated (IMO) and meticulously maintained. The hotel is conveniently located to attractions and activities in and around Eagle River. If you have an interest snowmobile racing history, the hotel has an extensive collection of photographs and memorabilia.
