I read other reviews on here. After our stay, I think it is important to make sure you stay at a place that suites your goal of an experience. The Riad Nerja is located in the Medina. It is not a hotel. It is lodging inside the Medina so that you are right there in the middle of that experience. It is a place to sleep, rest, clean up. What is best about this location is the Riad's owner/operator, Anowar. After a long day of travel and being stressed and tired, he prepared tea and pastries for us. It settled us. Then the next morning he walked us to a great breakfast location. Later he walked us to a local post box. That evening he took us to a local restaurant. In addition, we had forgotten our power converter, so he borrowed one and let us use it for the weekend.
