We book the hotel and selected to be paid via Expedia to avoid the FX issue , and we received the credit card message confirming the hotel rate was charged so we assume the payment was settled.
The hotel staff charge the room rate again on the credit card deposit again when we checked out , where will had to call Expedia to confirm we are not being double charged. It turns out the first payment was a credit hold, the room rate has to be paid at the hotel , and the credit hold will be release back to us after 48 hours after hotel has confirmed the payment . So why did we get the option to pay via Expedia in the first place ??
The room overall is nice and reasonable.
