The Attwater

Amazing. Excellent place. Top of the line with personal attention. We love this place!!!! It’s a real gem.

The Attwater is a wonderful hotel in an excellent location. We were able to walk almost everywhere comfortably unless we were too cold then would get an Uber home. The free parking (at least in November during off season) was a huge perk. We really enjoyed the variety of small to go breakfast plates. You can eat them at the common spaces throughout the hotel which we opted for. Complimentary coffee and tea on the main floor was another huge plus. The staff here is extremely welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and provide great local recommendations. As far as the room goes, it exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a Deluxe King which has a separate seating area, a mini fridge, desk, closet, large bathroom with separate sink area, dresser and more. We could not have been happier with our stay at The Attwater, especially with such affordable prices. I’d highly recommend staying here.

Room was very small considering how expensive this place was per evening. Paid 380 for the room. Should’ve paid 225. Concierge, if you call him that gave us a card with instructions not to bother him after 8 o’clock with questions about where to get a pizza… it is only for real emergencies....Who says that? I’m 43, but the hotel was obnoxiously set up for hipsters. For the price being charged I expected more value and amenities and definitely better service. Being told that you’re only there until 8 o’clock and what not to do isn’t what I wanted to hear. I’m not a child. The room was very small with barely enough room to get around the bed. Walls are paper thin. I’m normally not want to complain about things but with what you charged I expect much better.

Beautifully decorated boutique hotel!!! The room was immaculate and extremely comfortable. Will absolutely stay here again on my next trip to Newport.

Disappointing stay but I think this falls more on Expedia than it does The Attwater. Due to COVID the breakfast everyone raved about was very limited to some premade to-go options. Upon arrival the hotel informed us they would not to do any housekeeping for us during our stay. We had to carry our bags ourselves up 2 flights of stairs. The spa was closed. None of this was communicated to us prior to our arrival. Upon booking, we were happy for what seemed like a great hotel. Unfortunately, the result was more of a glorified apartment rental than it was a Hotel. In searching for our stay on Expedia we filtered on Hotel, but I would not consider this one due to the lack of service and amenities one expects. I know COVID makes things difficult, however Expedia dropped the ball on this one. Pros: -Text the front desk option -Homey -Beach chair & towels provided -Good location -Parking is included Cons: -No housekeeping during COVID -Limited breakfast during COVID -Spa closed during COVID -No elevator -No one helps with your bags -Could not get them on the phone when I tried calling before my arrival -Poor air conditioning in rooms, did not sleep well some of the nights

This is a nice, tasteful and trendy boutique hotel in Newport. A bit removed from the Wharf and restaurants area, but only a short walk (very close to the Tennis Hall of Fame!). COVID precautions where all very good. Staff was very attentive, despite very little physical presence - quick replies over text. Our room was small and the bathroom, tiny, but for two nights it was very fine.

The Attwater was immaculate and service was above and beyond. Adjustments due to covid (service mostly conducted through text) made us feel safe and reduced our interactions with others. We really appreciated the way the hotel adapted to the situation. The location was walkable to the waterfront and most of town. The room was immaculate and cute (actually, the entire hotel was). We would definitely stay here again!

Great boutique hotel. Central location, ten minutes walk to Thames Street. Friendly staff

The room is amazing!! The staff has been very friendly and accommodating. It’s a little off the beaten path but we don’t mind walking. Beds are super comfortable, air conditioning is amazing and the decor is super cool!

The Attwater is a beautiful little place to stay right in the heart of Newport! The staff is so welcoming and friendly, the rooms are perfect, nice size, comfortable and cheery and immaculate! The morning breakfast bar is fantastic! I would highly recommend the Attwater to anyone looking for a comfortable adorable place to stay in Newport within walking distance to just about everything! Loved it! I will absolutely go back anytime I am in Newport!
