The hotel is situated in the most beautiful location over looking the water and right in the centre of the town.
We booked the balcony room with a glimpse of the estuary, it has a large balcony with seating. It is situated over reception and does overlook the car park. It can be a little noisy in the mornings and you can hear the door banging below in the day, at night it was peaceful.
We cannot fault the staff here the service was excellent, polite, helpful and knowledgable.
The room itself was large as was the bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. There were some cleanliness and maintenance issues, the bedspread had what looked like blood stains on it, there is free gin and port and the bottles were very dirty around the spout. The radiator wouldn’t turn off, which we reported but was not fixed just turned off, the tv barely worked (think it’s operating on an old fashion analogue signal) and only picked up a couple of channels, we did report this on our first night but it wasn’t fixed, there was also a loose floor tile as you enter the bathroom and the shower screen was missing the seal, so water leaked over the floor.
The car park is small but their is valet parking and they move cars around to operate. We have an electric car and there are a couple of charging points, unfortunately always blocked by cars not charging which makes them hard to use. I’m being picky as the rooms are expensive per night and for that I do expect a high standard.
