Twin Lakes and the Ramada resort share the same footprint. Ramada have around 1/3 of the villa and Twin Lakes, the rest, but Ramada has naming rights and thus reception potions. This means if booking Twin Lakes, you need to call on arrival and be met to gain access. I missed this information with my booking and didn’t receive any check in info just before arriving so it took me by surprise and was actually a bit inconvenient when we just wanted to quickly get into the apartment after lengthy travel, and flop. Unfortunately there was nothing quick about checking in, all be it a very (very!) friendly and informative check in.
Otherwise though, the accomodation feels brand new, is well equipped and has everything you need. It’s a little way out of rotorua and doesn’t have anything on the immediate doorstep but was completely fine for us having a car and scooting out and about. The on-site restaurant is closed Mondays FYI.
Overall, happy with our stay and was perfectly fine for our night in the area. A comfy town house with plenty of space and a very new feel. Just allow some time for any interactions with the onsite team, and don’t expect to walk out the door to do it see things.
