Chateau Nova Yellowknife

I liked that the room was clean and very quiet. The washer and dryer were a plus. I didn't like that the restaurant only opened 8 am for breakfast, that is the time people usually are on the road. The beds are too soft and the pillows are a neck breaker.

Nice new building. Spacious room. The restaurant service was a little slow, but they were also busy with meal delivery in the hotel.

When i walked into the lobby, i made eye contact with a guy behind the desk. No welcome to Nova, my coworker can assist you. He turned and walked away. The coworker was behind a post so couldn't see her. Bedding was very disappointing. One pillow was shredded and stained. Requested to have the whole bed remade. This was very quickly done. Later, when i pulled down the covers, the right hand side of the fitted sheet was worn and pilling. I checked out the next morning early. I reccomend housekeeping place an order for bedding. Hotels make money by heads in beds. First impressions are very important. I stayed at another hotel for 2 more nights, a lost of $400. I am sure Nova will investigate into my concern. I may have been that one person where everything goes wrong during their stay. I admit, i was disappointed. Thank-you.

Good quality well appointed and clean rooms as expected from the nova, front desk service also helpful and efficient. In terms of facilities you can't fault it in Yellowknife. However there were some causes for concern. This hotel is being used to house people under covid-19 isolation and non-isolating guests such as ourselves are staying in adjacent rooms which made us very uncomfortable. These people are not isolating effectively and putting us at risk. You have potential covid carriers on the same floor as regular customers, served by the same cleaning & room service staff. Extra security guards posted at elevator exits noting our arrival and departure feels like uneceassary surveillance. Constant feeling of being watched and scrutinised by all staff as we moved around the property. I've stayed here many times for business and personal trips but will not do so again until these practises are improved. Cannot even use the stairs to exit the building as the "isolation" smoking area is directly outside the door.

Close to downtown, quiet and working AC. Friendly staff.

Stayed for almost a week and they only cleaned my room once I wasn’t very impressed at all for the amount of money I paid
