Glamour and good service

Wonderful hotel. It was a mansion and it was remodeled into a very cozy hotel. Amazing restaurant area and amazing entrance with Portuguese tiles design onto the walls. Room amenities were very nice. What is unusual for Europe. Rooms very well decorated and bathroom is a piece of art. The garden, at the open pool area, the sauna nd the Gym were very nice. Deeply recommend . Staff were very helpful.

The hotel is a very nice set up accomodation with excellent rooms. For a 5 star hotel there is some small brushing up to do, like the noise of the heat pumps and airco-units outside and keeping the public places clean during rainy days. ‘For the rest a superb hotel, excellent food and dito amenities like outdoor pool, sauna and parking service. Breakfast and dinner outstanding! And the location is without any doubt top!

Beautiful hotel. The staff provided excellent service and the breakfast was tasty. It’s a pleasant 20 minute walk to the waterfront area and there are a lot of restaurants nearby. The area seems a bit more local, which is nice.

Very nice but...

This is a very nice hotel but with many things to improve: 1- we had sewage smell in our roor for about half a day until they put a liquid in the shower 2- only 6 chairs a t the pool so if you don't get one by 8am, you won't have access to the pool 3- Pillows are in foam so expecting better pillows for that quality of hotel 4- there is a garage right beside the hotel so week days are noisy from 7:30am as they start working on cars.

Great stay, not so great breakfast

Very nice hotel. The property is finely restored and rooms are peaceful and comfortable. Although small, we enjoyed the pool. Staff at the reception were nice and attentive. Everything good except for the breakfast. Some of the staff were nice, others looked annoyed because us coming after10 - despite the fact of breakfast been served until 11.00 Few options. Sad coffe machine. We didn’t know it was possible to order coffee from a barista until our last day. Tiny cups for tea drinkers. Instead of serving bubbel wine on the morning, it would look better to offer proper tea (not tea bags) and coffee. The only thing we got as gluten intolerants was a packed gluten free bread that was impossible to chew. I understand there are few options in Portugal. But a five star hotel cannot offer such low quality food.
