One night stay

Lovely hotel and excellent food. Shame the TV did not work and no wifi, otherwise perfect.

Great location, quick and easy check in. Fantastic room but WiFi hit and miss and no signal for TV. Dining options were good especially the taco's for starters.

6/10 Good

Convenient but a bit soulless

The room was small and a bit cramped, clean and a good bathroom.
Felicity, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

A last minute booking at this small out of the way historic inn. It was busy at the bar where we checked in so a short wait. Room was basic but well appointed, bed super comfy, shower was hot, tea and coffee in room. Self serve continental breakfast in a dining room was great. Food in the restaurant was amazing and beautifully presented. Set in a small town with adjoining farmland. Close the Hampton Court Castle and gardens.

Accommodation interesting

The suite accommodation was very interesting with the bed on a mezzanine floor. This was very comfortable and was the strongest positive point of the stay. Sadly the internet (which also controlled the TV) was extremely patchy and unusable. The restaurant (a pub dating back to 1560) was charming but had problems with service which was slow. Food was OK but nothing special.

Would be back in a heartbeat!

We absolutely loved our stay at Englands Gate Inn. The space was so clean and comfortable, and had everything that you needed for a comfortable stay. We would love to stay again!

Review on the suite no2 Arkwright. WiFi did not work had to sit in the breakfast room to get WiFi and the TV did not work due to no WiFi. Roof light did not have a blind, was provided with an eye mask but still

Convenient check-in. Nice staff. Well appointed room. Flexible breakfast options.
Rohan, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Generally the room was ok although the door catches on the floor so only opens partway - not so easy to get in, carrying luggage. Door was difficult to lock and after breakfast, when I returned to my room, I couldnt unlock the door. Rang the pub door, rang their phone, emailed. No response, no one around. Another guest eventually helped, but he also had trouble. Finally unlocked, but really not ideal.

Staff behind bar were really lovely and helpful even though they were very busy! Mine and my sisters room was all that we needed for our 1 night stay . Tv was an issue trying to connect to a channel! Continental breakfast was great.
Pam, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

A nice clean and well appointed room with modern functioning en-suite facilities. The Smart TV and self service breakfast worked for me but may not work for everyone. Great if you need an early start.
Ian, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The property is lovely the mattress was a bit too soft for me in room 6 the free continental breakfast was great yogurts cerials fruit toast etc very hot in the room could do with a flat sheet on bed instead of a thick quilt so that you could have just had the sheet covering you some one else said that too
David, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

we were very impressed with the value of England's Gate .Plenty of convenient parking, the room, although small, was immaculately clean, very well and comprehensively equipped. there was also a generous hospitality tray. Breakfast is DIY but do not judge! The selection of food on offer is wide, a choice of hot drinks, juices, yogurts, cereals, fresh fruit and bakery goods is enormous. We also dined in the restaurant were we had good food at sensible prices. Nothing not to like about this place, we would not hesitate to return.
David, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Small room but good enough for an overnight stay whilst visiting relatives. No cooked breakfast option but ample choice of self serve items. Only digital TV so unfortunately missed the end of the rugby on regular TV.

Englands gate and Coach house

The young staff did their best, however the photo I saw and confirmed for my stay showed a double bed,I actually got a single bed , which felt extremely soft and small.I expected more from alledged boutique hotel, make your own breakfast too, easy money I guess if we are dumb enough to fall for it.
alfred, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Menu for the evening meal was limited due to non availability of certain items. Room was tiny didn’t realise when choosing. Self service continental breakfast was average. Staff tried to be helpful but it was apparent that they were short staffed.
