The large historic house is very beautiful and has a very interesting history that the hosts are happy to share with guests. The accommodations were very nice and comfortable and the cook to order breakfast was delicious! We would love to stay again!

Amazing stay

We visited Burton Court to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Helen and Edward were the perfect hosts. The rooms are beautiful and the whole house is steeped in so much history- we even managed to have a tour. Breakfast 10/10 too.

A comfortable and enjoyable stay. Room was clean comfortably and so cosy! We were made to feel so welcomed and they kindly accommodated a veggie breakfast for us. The breakfast was lovely with fresh foods and lots of local produce to choose from. We even got a tour of the place! Would highly recommend a stay here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our night at Burton Court. We had a beautiful room with a large and very comfortable bed, a lovely bathroom with bath and very efficient shower. We really liked having the choice of various teas, including loose leaf, in our room. Breakfast was delicious with everything locally sourced. We will definitely be back!

Country house Hotel packed with grandeur

My wife and I had booked the Burton Court for a nice relaxing weekend away, it looked really nice in the photos and had a real look of splendor about it. We got there and found it to be just so, the room was very spacious and extremely comfortable. Ben and Helen the owners actually live there with there family and they couldn't do enough for us to make our stay perfect. There are only 3 rooms that are available but they are all extremely well presented and I can't recommend the hotel high enough. They also cater for weddings and I could see what a marvellous venue it would make for anyone's wedding. Ben and Helen gave us a tour of part of the house and the history of the house was fascinating as they've unearthed lots of facts about both the house and estate it stands in. If we're ever back in the area we'd definitely book to stay there again.

Edward and Helen were so attentive, they spent time telling us about the history of their amazing home. The room was very comfortable, clean and warm. The breakfast was a lovely sociable affair, where we met 4 other guests and had a lovely conversation. Thank you so much Helen and Edward we will definitely stay at Burton Court again.

Can’t rate this property highly enough. We’re passionate about history and archaeology so the setting was perfect. The welcome couldn’t have been warmer. The rooms were huge and charmingly eccentric, the bed enormous and comfortable and the breakfast made with locally sourced ingredients. We were very happy with our stay, and with relatives in the area, we’d love to return.

The owners, Edward and Helen, were very welcoming and friendly. It’s a magnificent building with loads of interesting history. Going by the size of the building, one would have expected it to be a bit on the cold side but instead it was really warm. The setting and the grounds are beautiful with superb uninterrupted views. The bedrooms are very large with well appointed en-suite and superbly presented. Everything you could possibly want or need is provided. The breakfast was excellent and in an interesting room. Before leaving, we were given a conducted tour of the house by Edward which was very enlightening. In conclusion, our stay was really enjoyable and we will definitely return and cannot rate our stay highly enough. If anyone reading this review is in the area enhance your experience by staying at Burton Court.

A break away

Our first real foray into Herefordshire was a great success, made better by the discovery of Burton Court. This old, country house was the perfect place to stay: convenient, quiet and very, very welcoming. Ed and Helen could not have been better hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them; their guests' needs are paramount. Our room was very big and had everything for our comfort. Even the pillows were perfect - something we often find lacking in hotels! Breakfast was a delight with a fabulous fruit salad and yoghurt to precede a breakfast made up of local produce. Poached eggs were cooked to perfection! All in all, a very pleasurable break in a lovely, welcoming home. Ed and Helen are perfect hosts and we were only too sorry to have missed a guided tour of this lovely, historic old house.

Lovely stay at Burton Court

Lovely two night stay at Burton Court. Edward (Ed) and Helen were very welcoming hosts. The room was extremely spacious with a beautiful ensuite bathroom with lovely toiletries. The house itself is a little tired in places, but in keeping with its age. The great hall is medieval, dating back to 1330! Ed advised us before our visit on places to visit and pubs/restaurants where we could dine. On our first night he even took us and collected us from The Riverside at Amestrey, a local gastro pub with fine dining. Limited menu because of Covid19 and quite expensive, but excellent food quality. The breakfasts were lovely, freshly cooked with local produce, bacon, sausage, bread etc. We followed his advice and visited a number of villages on the black and white trail, all very pretty with amazing timbered houses. We were told we could have a tour of the property but unfortunately never found the time. The only negative is the fact that the room was not serviced during our stay, bed not made nor towels changed. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay at Burton Court and would highly recommend it.
