Lovely two night stay at Burton Court. Edward (Ed) and Helen were very welcoming hosts. The room was extremely spacious with a beautiful ensuite bathroom with lovely toiletries. The house itself is a little tired in places, but in keeping with its age. The great hall is medieval, dating back to 1330! Ed advised us before our visit on places to visit and pubs/restaurants where we could dine. On our first night he even took us and collected us from The Riverside at Amestrey, a local gastro pub with fine dining. Limited menu because of Covid19 and quite expensive, but excellent food quality. The breakfasts were lovely, freshly cooked with local produce, bacon, sausage, bread etc. We followed his advice and visited a number of villages on the black and white trail, all very pretty with amazing timbered houses. We were told we could have a tour of the property but unfortunately never found the time. The only negative is the fact that the room was not serviced during our stay, bed not made nor towels changed. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay at Burton Court and would highly recommend it.
