We checked into this Wyndham in Columbus late at night after a long day of travel, hoping for a decent night’s rest. What we got instead was one issue after another.
The first room had no hot water, none. I called the front desk, and to their credit, someone met me quickly with keys to a new room. But when I opened the shower door in that room, I found it covered in hairs...very clearly not from someone’s head. I decided against the shower.
By now it was past midnight. We tried to sleep, but the room was unbearably hot. The AC was broken, rattling but doing nothing. We barely slept, and by morning, we were done. I booked another hotel and we checked out immediately.
The whole place felt like it had just changed ownership. It was worn down, dirty, and neglected. From the lack of hot water, to hygiene issues, to broken AC, it was a cascade of problems that left us exhausted and frustrated.
Sadly, this experience has made me rethink staying at Wyndham properties altogether.
