How can this hotel be rated the way it is?
The Nouveau has pleasant and mostly new facilities. There is a lot of construction ongoing (often until very late > 2200 at night) - unfortunately, with very little attention towards the guests. The service is appaling. We reported a stuck and leaking toilet the first night into our stay, were assure that it was fixed, just to run into the same issue again the next night and the night after. No - I mean zero - excuse from the management and no offer to change the room, once it became clear that the toilet issue could not be fixed (the technican did acknowledge the last night there was a problem with the bowl). Also, the service in the restaurant is dismal. We waited for 45 minutes on a canned pinapple juice. The pool attentant is mostly nowhere to be seen (safety issue - is he also functions as life guard!). When asking you are being told he might be on a break. Staff are regularily dodging and hiding from any kind of enquiries. Our room also had not been cleaned the following the first day (dispite us being gone for the better part of the day). When pointing this out to reception. I get the excuse that since COVID, the explicit consent of the guest needs to be had for cleaning the room (frankly the first such excuse I heard - none of the other hotels or resorts had such policies). In summary, I am completely at loss how this resort can be rated the way it is. The service problems are systemic and not just isolated.
