We just spent five nights at the Holiday Inn Chelsea in New York for a reunion after many years. The occasion was beautiful but not so much the hotel experience. Apart from being rather sad spatially, the service was very disappointing. The staff at the counter were very uncooperative, bordering on unfriendly. We were cold and were not provided with blankets, except after much insistence, because 'they didn't have any'. They did not hold our luggage on the day of departure because they 'had no space'. They did not provide us with an invoice on departure because 'it was not their problem' as we had booked online. In addition, the cards to enter the room were demagnetised (3 of them!) every time. Tiny wardrobe, leaky shower, pathetic breakfast....In short, for the price you pay you can find better even in New York! At least I wish you that ....
