Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff. Some part's of the room could do with an upgrade or a deep clean but other than that was a nice hotel and the room was sufficient for sleeping and taking a shower or bath

Lovely historic hotel
Spacious and very comfortable room with a sea view and all the amenities I required in a room, including the bonus of a coffee machine. The building was very grand and full of character and in a very central and convenient location. Would stay here again.

Love The Royal
I have stayed at The Royal many times and even got married here. Absolutely love the place, stuff are fantastic, we stayed in a room on 3rd floor for a very good rate and it was lovely, spacious and clean.

Mould In the rooms, plasterboard in the ceiling dropping because of a leak, huge brown stains on the cieljng from the leak, lots of large holes In the curtains, and very dirty carpet

Sea view / amazing
Our first room was ideal for me and my mum , but the tv didn’t work , so there was no hesitation from the staff and they moved us straight away and wow we got upgraded to a suite which was amazing , my 85 year old was crying when she saw it and the view was overlooking the sea .. plus we had 2 tvs:) Thanks to the staff for making our stay extra special
