Very basic room with old,used up, cheap furniture. Bathroom was dark, water pump took ages to fill up clearly faulty water tank for the toilet. Shower in very bad condition, black mold visible everywhere. Low water pressure in the shower made showering a challenge. Owner knew I'm coming in advance and heating got only turned on after I arrived, so first night was quite cold. Restaurant below serves only Indian food, no other options. After night in my room I decided that I won’t risk it with eating there so can't say anything about food. In a nutshel I was expecting a lot more for 75£ a night. Maybe i'm too demanding but working toilet and normal shower would be great.

Suspect room's been refurbished fairly recently so OK but shower pressure poor. Couldn't get tv to work. Breakfast cereal supplied, but no milk. However, free from shop next door 🙂 Hooks for coats and a shelf in the bathroom would be a bonus. No warning online that the access staircase is steep.

Cardiff concert sleepover

Was attending the Lana del Rey concert ! In Cardiff city centre and most hotels were full or charging ridiculous prices ! So I was pleased to be about 20 minutes from city by train ! Decent price very comfortable and near to train station

The hotel was previously a run down property which has undergone a complete refurbishment by it new owners. Opened in September 2024 I was one of only a very small handful of clients that evening. The hotel served mainly Indian food but wow the meal I had was superb and obviously cooked by a chief with great experience . The rooms themselves were serviceable, neat but lacked the quality to make it a premium hotel. Would I stay again, yes and try another great meal.

Could not fault the stay we had. The room is very light, airy and everything looks brand new. Really large room with lovely big window. The bed is very comfortable and the linen all smelt really fresh. Breakfast isn't provided, which we knew about, but there are tea and coffee facilities in the room. The only thing we weren't told about was how to turn the power on for the shower...this is a switch on the wall outside the bathroom. No noise from the road so had a very peaceful sleep. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfy bed and close to train station

Newly refurbished room, but... the TV didn't work because you needed to sign in to Apps and WiFi signal was poor. The noise from the toilets were ridiculously loud and different ones going all night long. There are only ceiling lights, so really bright, no side lamps/lights. The place was clean, comfy bed and gpod location for train into Cardiff.

Little gem of a hotel

I booked this hotel at very short notice, due to visiting the area as a surprise to see my daughter. On arrival the whole building was spotless, and after a short wait, I was greeted by the proprietor. The gentleman was extremely professional, happy, polite and gave the warmest of welcomes to his establishment. He promptly booked me in and escorted me to my room. The room itself was immaculately kept and clean, it was also more spacious than what I expected and was tastefully decorated. I was informed that after 21:00 in the evening, access to the property would be via a dedicated security, key card door at the rear of the property, to avoid going through the bar/restaurant area. I was so impressed with my stay, I shall be using this venue for future trips to see my daughter.

The room was clean but we only had one towel between 2 of us, only managed to get someone to bring another on on our second day. The bed was terrible though, very bouncy and only 3 pillows. Above an Indian restaurant which is fine if you like the food, but no other food available as an option, it was lovely though the plate of food I did eat. A bit noisy as on the little high street and above a shop. Was OK as a couple, but probably wouldn't stay there as a lone female. Staff are friendly.
