DISPLEASURE WITH HOTELS.COM
We have stayed at Crowne Point before and they have always been wonderful. This review is regarding HOTELS.COM. I needed to cancel my reservation the day of my scheduled visit. The reason being the weather was terrible with high winds, rain and lightning. I was not comfortable leaving home. I called the number provided on Google. This number was connected to a TOY MANUFACTURER! I called yet another number I found on Google and a lady answered but had to transfer me to another department due to the nature of my request. Once transferred, I was disconnected immediately. The following day I called same phone numbers found on Google...once again, the TOY MANUFACTURER! I contacted Crowne Pointe in Lansing to explain my cancelation and they said they understood but couldn't do anything re: my refund of $161.28 due to canceling the day of the reservation PLUS I paid HOTELS.COM; not Crowne Pointe. I feel I'm due the return due to the reason being the terrible weather (National Weather Advisory had issued warnings). HOTELS.COM has terrible customer service! I'd rather make my own reservation than go through them. You can't talk to a real human being. They don't provide a valid phone number. The Virtual Operator is of no help as it eventually disenables any further conversation and will not transfer you to a real/live CSR. There is NO way to speak to someone. I will make sure to tell my vacationing friends to avoid HOTELS.COM & I encourage you to do the same.
