Lovely inn dating back to 1688. Food was delicious and the rooms were cosy. For those who are on the taller side, it's worth noting that as part of the charm of a building built in the 1600's, you will find yourself having to duck underneath the doorframes!
Fantastic cottage, just 5 miles from Keswick. Small and quaint, everything you need for a week away. Kitchen well stocked, private outside area to sit and chill of an evening. To big bedrooms, one with an ensuite plus a main bathroom. Real value for money!! I would strongly recommend and stay!
Sadly they are still to refurbish some of the bedrooms, the room I had had damp everywhere, patches of plaster off the wall. Had I know I would not have booked that place, when i complained they apologised but that was it, marred my stay with them definately.
We had an amazing time. The food amazing in a gorgeous pub. The atmosphere and hospitality was fantastic everyone made us feel welcome very friendly especially the lovely Keith, what a legend! Loved listening to the stories & the history of the building he was brilliant! We paid ÂŁ132 a night (Tuesday( for our room, there was a few minor problems, especially the volume of the music that we could hear while in our room played in the bar & we did also wonder if it was actually a Superior room, (room 5). We would definitely stay again but request a different room.
