You are on your own
I am a small business owner and rarely leave poor reviews but felt it would help others when deciding to stay at this property. Hotel doesn't have a "front desk" anyone you ask for anything will tell you to talk to the concierge. Supposedly there is a concierge at the lower level of each individual building, we only saw ours twice on our 5 night stay and he was basically useless. We asked for a bottle of liquor for our room (certainly willing to pay). We were told to talk to one of the bartenders. We asked if they had an ice machine, no ice machines but room service can bring you ice. We ate at the Asian restaurant and noticed they also had a habachi option. We asked but were told we only had a standard reservation. So seeing as we had another reservation in 3 days I asked if they could change it from standard to Hibachi, you guessed it, I was told to talk to the concierge. My wife had a health scare, can't call the front desk because there isn't even a button on the phone so I called room service. They assured me someone would call back in 2min, no call back. So we had to walk to the front of the hotel and track someone down who was absolutely no help. He didn't even know the pharmacy in the hotel was open which we figured out on our own. Asked for change 3 times so I could tip their employees to no avail, they don't have change. I could go on and on...They do have a beautiful beach and decent pools however if you want a pool chair wakeup at 6:30 or no dice!

Nice rooms and staff, the issues of this hotel is behind in the supervision and management. Impossible to get two same meals served the same way. Lack of staff and non organised kitchens are one of the reasons. I am not a complainer and we had good times, and everything on the surface looks good. But a little deeper many of the intentions to have international kitchens is very difficult to fulfill if the wish is to be authentic. I don’t think the chefs in the Italian restaurant ever have been in Italy… We miss that you at least make the Spices for a real authentic Mexican restaurant. Don’t serve anything else than the best from Mexico kitchen and don’t make it “American”. If the American people can’t eat in another way than on a cruise liner, they can choose one of the other restaurants. There must be so many original dishes that you want to show us, and serve with passion. Beautiful location and beautiful beach. Nice looking hotel and most of the drinks also very good, at least for an all inclusive hotel.

Propriedade antiga, mas muito bem conservada. Tudo muito limpo e confortável. A praia em frente ao hotel é ótima. Funcionários muito educados e prestativos. Só jantei uma vez, no restaurante de comida mexicana, e estava tudo muito bom. Hotel tipo resort. Recomendo.

Did not meet Expectations
Beautiful property. But there are a lot of gaps in the overall experience. Not enough servers. Ordering a drink at the pool bar was a hassle and felt very 3 star. (Servers and waiters were fine, just not enough of them). The gazebo and waterway is nice….but the last half of it toward the beach was idle. No water. Really ugly. Not what you expect to see at this type of resort. The room was nice. The bathroom feels dirty due to old age. Our concierge was not there a lot of the time. We found assistance at another villa. We understand people have to be away. Again, just giving you my impression in case it’s helpful. The restaurants are exquisite. Dining service was overall wonderful, although the sit down breakfast was extremely slow on 12/17. Please understand: The servers were great…..but you generally don’t want to spend an hour and a half at breakfast. I had a very hard time finding a place on line to make dining reservations ahead of our trip. Our confirmation told us to make them 7-10 days out…..and showed an email address of xxx-xxx. Our couples massage at the spa was really nice. Gym was adequate. There was confusion at the gate on the evening we arrived. Guard told our driver someone with my name (Hunt) had already arrived. We waited for that to get cleared up. We even were questioned when we arrived for dinner….because someone with my name was also on the list. Being honest. A beautiful place. But needs attention.

Easy access to the beach, clean areas to either sunbathe or stay on the shade. Pool area is close to drinks , which were goood. Staff always willing to help, meals at different restaurants were tasty and fresh!

Tolles Hotel mit a la carte Restaurants. Man wird vor jedem Restaurantbesuch nach Allergien gefragt. Dies wurde dann auch bei der Bestellung berücksichtigt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich.

The resort was exceptional. Beautiful from the first step inside. We were treated like valued guests and there was nothing they wouldn’t do to accommodate us. Most of the staff have been there for years and the attention they give their guests is unmatched. We loved the size and privacy of this resort. Adults only is the only way to go for couples. There are many activities to partake in, if interested. The little shops of playacar are right across the street and Playa del Carmen is a $10 cab ride. Will definitely stay again!!

This was my 2nd time & overall I was really happy & would return. Pros: The food was much better than I remembered, no one in my party got sick. They have improved on their cocktail skills. Love that it’s a smaller, walkable resort with helpful staff & gorgeous beach access. Cons: I was annoyed that our jetted tub didn’t work. They really need to maintain their beach shade tents, they were just anchoring them with plastic, not eco friendly at all, plus it looks trashy & doesn’t work because they rip & tangle easily. The key to success & longevity of a resort is maintenance!!! Keep it up & this has the potential to be a truly luxurious resort.

It was a beautiful place, the employees were awesome and were very friendly and helpful. We met alot of wonderful people and had the best time. Beach was amazing and felt safe leaving our stuff by our chairs when enjoying the ocean, vendors werent pushy at all just tell them (no gracias) and they keep walking. Food was a hit or miss at dinner but everything was fresh and presentation was great, The AC in a couple of restaurants could have been better but wasnt unbearable. Drinks we had were pretty weak but at the end of the day we were happy we didnt over do it. Karaoke on Sundays and Wednesday nights were a blast and lasted from 9 to 11 and also enjoyed the nightly entertainment at the bar area. It was a very quiet resort with everyone being respectful and polite, we will definitely be back.

I like the view an staff was so polite an helpful. Everything stops or quite time comes at 1 a.m. there is no entertainment after that. No food. Room service stops answering phone too. In my room it was 2 sinks 1 was leaking and the other stopped up. Asked for housekeeping and couldn't get anyone for 2 days. If your a nite owl like me this usnt the resort 4 u. Drinks were limited. They didnt know how to make alot of the drinks

It is an amazing resort, food was delicious, only issues was there wasn’t a lot of shade by the big pools and if ur in buildings 21 or 22 you are kept up till at least 11pm due to the Allegro resort next door playing loud music every night, resort cannot do anything about it

Overall we had a nice time at RH. We arrived early and check in was fast and smooth. The guy who checked us in was not very informative and same goes for our concierge. The activities were not posted. The entertainment staff was nice and outgoing but the entertainment was the same for 10 days. Bingo and same music trivia. On day 3 we new all the answers because they repeated the same ones. Wish they had more things to do around the pool. I also didn't know they had bikes until the second to last day. The breakfast buffet was ok. Sometimes there would be drink service but not always. We didnt have anything to drink with our breakfast one day. We went to spices the rest of the time and had great service. The restaurants for dinner all had great service. Service was fairly quick. We did not care for the Mediterranean restaurant. The pasta carbonara and the crab ravioli was not good at all. We really liked Spices duck tacos and their salsa that came out with the chipa. I wish they offered a salsa making class specifically for their salsa. We loved our room and was a little nervous about the AC complaints. But it stayed comfortably cool for 10 days. We booked the standard room and it was large and had a nice balcony that overlooked palm trees. The pool was tricky getting seats and we stayed in the beginning of Oct. We saw a couple people get mad about stealing reserved chairs. We spent time at the beach most days. The beach is amazing. Drinks and pool service also was great.

Property definitely older but well kept. Staff spoke very limited English. Poolside fun non existent and no swim up bar folks! You had no choice but have a reservation for dinner and it was limited. Smallest buffet I have ever seen. Rooms clean and very quiet. Spa experience very limited but you pay same price as larger newer spas. No hot tubs at all
