Overall, we enjoyed our 3 day stay at South Coast. We stayed in the villas and enjoyed the openness & size of the room, plus the little patio just outside was nice for relaxing and enjoying an evening glass of wine. The grounds are beautiful & quite peaceful. We did stay during the height of wedding season and both Friday and Saturday afternoon, we realized that our villa was located right next to the area where the wedding ceremonies are held. This wasn’t too large of an issue, but it should be noted that a certain section of the parking is blocked off during the ceremonies themselves. If your car gets blocked into those spaces during the wedding ceremony beware you won’t be able to move it, a warning would’ve been nice.
For the caliber of resort that this is, we were also mildly disappointed by a few of things. First, when we arrived to check in, the process was smooth, but we were assigned to a room, which, upon entering we realized was already occupied by other guests. We quickly exited, laughing it off, & returned to the front desk to alert them and be assigned to another Villa. The staff helped us out right away and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine, which was appreciated but certainly not expected. The mirrors in the bathroom had fingerprints all over them, I’d expect them to be clean. Sadly, we were awoken the next day by an alarm clock at 6 AM that had not been reset after the prior guests. A few tweaks/attention to detail would have made this a five star stay.
