After three weeks in south Italy, we needed to transfer from Ischia to FCO for the flight back to the states. We took the Fiumicino Express bus to FCO, and a taxi to Domus Lina, where we had a warm welcome and efficient check in. Guilia offered to book a taxi for the early morning back to FCO (20 euros, the same as the taxi, but a very nice driver, on time and with a Mercedes.)
Domus Lina is ideally situated in the little working town of Fiumicino which is filled with working fishing boats on the river leading to the sea. Just around the corner from Domus Lina is a main street with many, many options for a last supper in Italy, from restaurants serving seafood to a fabulous pizza by the slice place (Pizza Marina) and gelato place where the line was very, very long due to its popularity.
Domus Lina shows many signs of attention to detail and comfort, as well as style. The beds and linens were good quality and comfortable, the bathroom a good size and nicely done with bright turquoise tile, and for those who may have forgotten a razor or toothbrush, those are supplied. Good shower with hot water. Quiet. This was a great alternative to taking the train into Rome, staying in a hotel there, then getting into a very early taxi or taking the first Leonardo Express of the morning. For those who have been to Rome, this is a good option.
