An absolutely awful hotel from start to finish. My Fiancé and I booked the hotel because we were invited to a wedding in the area. We expected far more from Holiday Inn, a chain that we have both stayed with before. We stayed in room 329, an Executive room.
The entrance of the hotel is dirty. Outside in the car port were Champagne glasses, obviously from the evening before. The flower beds up to the entrance are full of cigaret butts and rubbish. The tables in the smoking area are filthy.
The lobby itself is very dusty, dirty and generally in very poor condition. Paint is chipped, windows are dirty and scratched. Carpets are threadbare and floors everywhere are in desperate need of a mop or a hoover.
The room was dark, dusty, dirty and cold. Lampshades, headboards, side tables and mirrors clearly had not been dusted or polished for a while. The window handle was loosely fitted and the window was draughty. We couldn't put the heater on because the blower was too loud and the vent squeaked and rattled. The trouser press didn't work. The coffee in the rooms is revolting. The mini bar was "stocked" with two small bottles of water and a KitKat.
The receptionist couldn't bring two plug adapters up to the room when I asked over the phone because "(She has) got too much to do at moment. There is a buss load of Chinese people checking in at the moment".
In the bathroom the bath was dirty, the front of it is chipped, broken and scratched. Tiles have been badly repaired where f
