Certainly an excellent hotel, but... we love Four Seasons Hotels all over the world, that is the benchmark all other luxury hotels have to be measured on. It was the second time we stayed at a Mandarin Oriental hotel, pricewise, they would like to position themselves well above the Four Seasons Hotels. What you get for your money is certainly a luxury experience, but it is not better than other luxury hotels, and that is why we somehow were a bit disappointed. A vegetarian green curry to the room was charged at over 30 Euros, and it was really small. The staff is very professional, but somehow not particularly friendly. I also did not like the call the day before we left, where I was asked if I could tell them, when we would like to leave the next day. It felt as if they can't wait for us to leave.
Don't get me wrong here, this is a really really good hotel, it just does not set itself apart enough from other luxury brands, despite the very high price that sets expectations just a little bit too high.
