    Three Eyes National Park is a nature reserve that features a limestone cave system that's home to 3 crystal-clear lakes, which is where the Three Eyes name comes from. The lakes inside the caves are freshwater pools, and the nearby walking paths offer interesting viewpoints for your family to see them.

    When you visit this park, be prepared for a lot of steps. Elevation changes are common throughout the cave network. Dress cool as well since it can get quite warm and humid inside the caves. The park is just 10 minutes from Santo Domingo's colonial zone.

    Damajaqua Cascades (27 Waterfalls) is a collection of falls in the Northern Corridor mountains where you can slide, jump, drop from vine swings, and swim in cool, crystalline waters. You can reach the falls by way of a scenic hiking trail or opt for a vehicle tour. Be sure to watch for unique rock formations and beautiful native flora on the trails and amongst the falls and pools.

    Whether hiking or arriving by vehicle, all tours require a guide, and the entrance fee includes a life jacket and helmet as well. You can get to the falls from Damajagua, which is a few miles south of Saballo.

    The different rooms here each have their own theme, including planet Earth, human beings, weather systems, ecology, and more. Kids love the Paleomundo room with figures of dinosaurs and other historic creatures. You can see it all for yourself in Santo Domingo on the east side of the Colonial Zone.

    Conquista Park is a thematic museum and park where you can learn all about the native Taino people and the arrival of the first Europeans in the Caribbean. When you visit the park, you'll find re-creations of scenes using 247 life-sized characters in 27 situations.

    The Taino people's encounter with the invading Spaniards changed history forever, and you can see it represented in a way that's easy for kids and adults to understand. There's a museum exhibit at the park as well that showcases more than 130 artefacts from the Taino people. You can get to this park just east of La Romana near the southern shore.
