Part of the larger ‘EmPlayground’, Imaginia Bangkok is open daily from 10am (weekdays are better to avoid the queues). There are 3-hour day passes at different price ranges for kids above 91cm, 71-90cm and under 70cm. Accompanying parents or guardians also need to pay some extra baht.

There are 19 different zones in total spread across some 1,400 sq metres. Among the highlights is the ‘Dream Jungle’ (a set of bouncy and colourful nets for the kids to jump or crawl across), an inflatable mountain to climb and the ‘Time Tube Slider’ transporting you from floor 2 to floor 1.

Even so, what sets Imaginia aside from other children’s play centres in Bangkok is how it embraces technology. For example, ‘Wonder Car’ lets you paint a life-sized model car via a touch screen computer below and then instantly send a screenshot of your creation to your email address.

Same goes for the ‘Art Cabin’, which makes famous paintings from around the world fully customisable via a touch screen; kids can then instantly send their reworked masterpiece via the high-speed Internet connection.

Imaginia Bangkok has enough to keep kids busy

‘Builders Studio’, ‘Art Cabin’ and ‘Book Cave’ provide more of a classroom setting with chairs, tables, and learning resources, while the very helpful English-speaking staff are always nearby to assist the children with each activity.

There are also a few interesting audio zones on the top level, including ‘Sound Cloud’ for younger kids and the excellent ‘DJ Canopy’ for mixing dance music on real DJ decks.

Overall, Imaginia is more than just a good place for the kids to blow off some steam for a few hours. It’s a vibrant, stimulating centre that provides a hands-on learning experience for all children up to 15-years-old.

It’s located right in the middle of Bangkok with direct access from Phrom Phong BTS, meaning this is a great activity for those rainy days in Bangkok.
