Check in was great, went straight down to the restaurant and the bar was full but the dining room was completely empty. So we looked around and saw no staff. I went back to the front desk to ask if the restaurant was open they said of course! So I headed back and tried to catch a waiter in the bar..the first one said he was too busy, he "had a 9 top" to deal with. Finally I grabbed another one and he stopped and waited on us. He said we would be better in the bar, but I explained to him it was full. So we finally ordered and after a short wait, my husband and son were served. Another 15-20 minutes goes by and I still do not have my food. At this point my husband and son were done and it was truly freezing in the place so I told them to go upstairs, and the manager brought my shrimp & grits and said I would not be charged, he was very sorry. It was some of the best shrimp & grits I've ever had. Checked out and noticed that the meal was still on the bill...so I had to wait there until my waiter went by, grab him, almost literally and tell him the check was wrong. He fixed it, and I went upstairs. Get to our room, which was lovely, and unpacked and turned on the TV....no TV...call down the front desk and they said maintenance would be right up, it's 9:30pm. No maintenance, so anther call 9:45pm, he'll be right up they said again. Ok, 10pm no maintenance. I called down the last time and said, I need a room with a working TV, period. We got a new room.
