We booked one night through Hotels.com and another 10 nights directly using the homepage of the hotel, because the room category we actually wanted, the La Belle Alliance Apartment was not available with Hotels.com. But this was a big mistake, because using the hotel homepage the only thing easily done was the booking (under the condition that we woud accept the full prepayment of the rate...!). But it turned out that this room we booked was never given to us! The first night, which we had booked with hotels.com, we were given an upgrade to a three room apartment. After that, we were given an unacceptable smelly old apartment in front of the parking lot. The apartment was humid and smelling badly from the sewage pipe and the moldy walls and furniture. After not accepting that apartment, we were pushed around ending in the octagon wing of the Avila very far away from the private beach next to the Belle Alliance Wing and offered exclusively to the tenants of the apartments. The beach and its proximity was actually the reason why we had opted, booked and payed for an apartment in the La Belle Alliance Section of the hotel in the first place...
