I chose the hotel as it was close to family and I booked an accessible room.
Reception and the dining room were modern, clean and tidy. My room, however, was very dated with a rickety, stained bathroom and a lumpy, uncomfortable bed. Not much space for clothes. The room itself was clean and the bedding was freshly laundered.
Unfortunately the position of the hotel, on a main road, meant the traffic noise was very noticeable throughout the day and night. Also, I could hear talking and movements from all the other guests in nearby rooms, including above, below and across the hallway.
My accessible room was also a family room meaning less space due to the extra bed. In my opinion, not enough room for a wheelchair user. I didn't feel safe using the grab rails next to the toilet which was very low and didn't flush properly. There was a small bath and shower combination which was old and stained. There was little water pressure but at least it was hot. The rails and bars here were sturdy and due to a step design in the bath meant it was easier to use.
The areas i can't fault are the staff and the food. Reception was manned 24 hours a day and everyone was efficient, helpful and friendly. Breakfast consisted of continental or full English which was cooked to order and always hot.
Overall, i would recommend the hotel for someone who wants a short getaway close to the City centre but not if you want a quiet, relaxing stay.
