We arrived at the hotel a few hours early after an overnight bus ride from Hanoi (check-in was at 2 PM), so we had some time to kill. The lobby was chaotic, and we were surprised to see the staff completely unbothered as a mother fed her child on the pool table. We even opted for a massage to pass the time, but unfortunately, no refreshments were offered while we waitedâwhich wouldâve been a thoughtful gesture.
While these may seem like small issues, details matter in the service industry. The lobby, in particular, gets extremely crowdedâchildren running around unattended, parents not intervening, and staff doing little to maintain order.
The view from the hotel is undeniably magical, but overall, I wouldnât choose to stay here again. One example that stood out: it was raining, and I asked to borrow a second umbrella (since my wife was using the one provided in our room). Instead of simply helping, the staff had to verify with housekeeping whether the original umbrella was in useâwhich felt unnecessarily rigid and inconvenient.
In the end, Iâm giving this place 4 stars, but thatâs being generous. The little things added up, and unfortunately, they detracted from what could have been a much better experience.
