I chose this property for its low price and proximity to a lot of Osaka’s main attractions, despite the lack of reviews. I would not highly recommend this, specifically if traveling in a large group. I’ll break down how our stay was.
Firstly, this is essentially an apartment building with a few units being used as a hotel. The property is a bit dingy but serviceable. It is located in a good area; close walk to train stations, konbinis and shopping centers(nipponbashi, namba parks, dotonbori).
There is no front desk, so check-in and check-out are self administered. There is a keypad to enter the building, which the owner did not tell us the passcode and we were stuck outside for awhile until a resident let us in. Check-in information is simply sent through email to some address instead of a separate google form or other 3rd party site, which seems a bit odd unsafe. No instructions given for checking out.
Our main issue was the room we reserved was not as spacious as advertised. We booked a room which at the time of booking(May 2024) could hold 6 people; with 2 double beds and 2 twin beds. Looking now that same unit says it holds 4 people, with only 1 double bed. We were a party of 5 so it was very cramped and annoying that the listing had changed after we had booked it, with no prior notice from the property. The rooms also aren’t as spacious as they appear(although that may be our fault since the 5 of us are all tall men).
Overall, know what you’re getting into.
