I stayed in a single room for 6 nights. The room was small, but had everything I needed (washbasin, chair+desk, little shelf, comfortable bed). It was clean when I got there plus the room got cleaned every day. A towel and soap were also provided.
The toilet and the shower were on the same floor as my room and I shared them with the other guests on that floor. The facilities were always clean and I never had to wait long to get in.
Every morning a very good breakfast (egg, ham, cheese, different kinds of jam, nutella, different kinds of bread, fresh orange juice, coffee/tee) was served, I often didn't get hungry again until the afternoon, great! The room where the breakfast was served was very beautiful and had a great view on the Rijksmuseum, which is literally next to the hotel.
The staff is friendly and helpful, they gave me a city map for free and I could ask them if I needed any information or help. Plus there were further informations about museums, tours, restaurants, etc provided next to the reception.
If you're looking for a cosy and clean hotel, not luxury, but rather simple (and therefore quite charming), this is the right choice.
I had an awesome week in Amsterdam and I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel!
Practical informations: Tram lines number 2 and 5 go directly from central station to the stop Rijksmuseum, which is right in front of the hotel. The stairs in the hotel are quite steep, so if you have major leg or foot problems, this could be difficult
