Disappointed by condition of room: old and torn
We booked the Evesham Hotel based on the good ratings on the Hotels.com website and the correspoding room pictures.
When arriving at the hotel we were very disappointed by our room (no. 24 "deluxe double room"). The room was not deluxe at all: the interior was old and worn. The mix of old furniture was just ridiculous. Definitely the least welcoming hotel room I have stayed in for ages. I understand that this is an old hotel and it could have charm - but this room was just not taken care of and in an unpleasant condition. The same impression we got in some of the corridors as well. There might be nicely renovated rooms but ours was just not worth the 100€ at all! Other room features: old and worn carpet, stain on duvet cover, patches/areas of dust on wallpapers, crazy old fridge working as a radiator for the room if you don't unplug it, old bathroom with ugly tiles, a lot of mold in the bathtub silicone sealings, very low water pressure from shower head, room door without locking feature (just snapping), no hairdryer (a partially broken one was provided on request).
Other than that: service personnel was very friendly and a nice breakfast was served in the breakfast room (view to the gardens) while maintaining social distancing very well. The location of the hotel is very quiet and it offers huge gardens which are unfortunately not very well taken care of (due to Corona crisis?). I think this hotel has a lot of potential - but probably needs a lot of work to be done.
