As many guests have commented, the Hotel Heritage Bhaktapur is a relatively newly built property, ideally located just a few minutes walk from the old town of Bhaktapur so an ideal place from which to explore this former royal city of Nepal. The hotel states that it has been created and decorated in the Newari style where the Newar people are the historical inhabitants of the Kathmandu valley and the surrounding areas. Each room is uniquely decorated.
On arrival, we were welcomed with a juice drink and a piece of traditional fabric around our necks. Our room had air conditioning, a comfortable bed, wi-fi and a nice bathroom with shower. It was actually a pity we didn’t spend more time in the room!
The staff were extremely welcoming and informative about where to go, what to see and how to get there. There’s a full restaurant with good breakfast and very good choice of dinner from western dishes to traditional Nepalese at reasonable prices and, although we didn’t have time to visit, a bar adjoins the property. A courtyard garden means that you can choose to relax outside or eat in.
This isn’t the cheapest hotel in the town, but neither is it the most expensive and for what you get, definitely good value. To be recommended.
