This hotel has been a rather poor experience from the beginning. We had been assigned to a room on the second floor obviously designed for handicapped guests. Unfortunately, however, the room wasn't handicapped accessible at all, as there was no elevator available, so we had to carry our suitcases via the steep staircase without any assistance to our room back and forth twice.
When we left our room next morning I made personally sure that the 'Please clean my room' sign was positioned on the door from outside. And on our return home in the evening the same sign was still dangling on the door. Evidently housekeeping had forgotten to clean our room. So I called up front desk and was told, no problem, we send someone over right away. Another 10 minutes later, however, I received another phone call from the hotel manager telling me: Sir, I am pretty sure you meant it well, but you didn't let housekeeping know you wanted to have your room cleaned this morning! Wow, I simply didn't want to believe what I just heard: What a completely inappropriate or at least completely unprofessional reply. Or to sum up our experience at this hotel otherwise: We gladly take your money, but we are not prepared to provide the service due!
