We booked our stay via Expedia and everything was fine until we reached the Resort. The resort is actually a little far from town and though a shuttle is available, there is no schedule tho. The whole place looks nice and is very close to the beach, but the island itself is quite dirty, there is trash everywhere.
When we checked in, we were directed to our room and that‘s when the fun started! We booked a Deluxe Garden View room with a double bed, but we were given a room with separate beds, a broken door lock and a closed and inaccessible safe. We didn’t expect a lot from the room, but that was not negotiable. We went to the reception to ask if we could have the room we booked, but they were fully booked and could not offer anything else. After much arguing, long waiting times and asking about refund policies, they offered us an upgraded room but only starting the next night. Initially, they wanted us to pay more for the room, but we reached an agreement that it was only fair that we had a room more suiting to what we requested and the upgrade was given at no additional cost. After we came back to our room from dinner, we were greeted by a cockroach. We had to hunt it around the room and kill it ourselves because the staff were unable to offer bug spray or any help.
Nonetheless, the other room and the resort itself looked really pretty. Especially the beach access and the view speak for itself. We had no further issues and somehow enjoyed our stay.
