It's right on the beach, which is great. But you will have to go to the front desk to get a beach pass, walk through a security gate to then get to yet another security gate to finally get a wrist band to get on the beach. This is Ocho Rios, not the hotel. Security is tight. The hotel has old world charm, but it can show its age. But I will say, sitting out on the balcony during a rain storm, drinking a Red Stripe, listening to some jazz, it was great.
There is a little shop that has snacks and beers, wine, sodas, etc. Restaurant has good food, and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's not a resort, so keep that in mind. But if you want something with some character, please stay here. Enjoy the history. It will be worth it.
