6/10 – Gut

Awful layout, but nice rooms (except sink drain)
Office park Westin, so expectations were not high. I stay in hotels maybe 40-50 nights a year for work and play, and feel the need to review this one.
Accommodated my late (12:15 am) arrival from the West Coast fairly well, though there was no one at the front desk when I arrived (they must have seen me on camera and came out within a minute or so).
Appreciated that they gave me a free breakfast voucher. And breakfast was quick/ decent — real-ish eggs! (Not the usual powdered garbage.)
Layout of the hotel is simply awful — one elevator bank and then a very long hallway with (closed) fire doors that made me doubt whether there were any more rooms beyond (including mine). I actually walked back and called the front desk to make sure I hadn’t missed something.
Room was good / comfortable, if a bit dated (like most Westins). But was annoyed to discover that the sink drain was somehow clogged and water backed up into the sink right away and wouldn’t drain. Good shower and comfortable bed. Iron was old and not wonderful but did the trick.
Parking situation was annoying (garage with very low clearance and unclear layout…not connected to hotel so still had to walk across the entry driveway/circle in the cold/rain. Gates were up so at least ends up being free rather than having to pay twenty for a subpar service.
