Nice location and safe neighbourhood in upper east side, reasonalble walking distance to the central park. Close to the metro and supermarket, but the noise of the street trafic and ambulance vehicle of the hospital cross the street could by anoying in the night.
But the most unpleaseant supprise is a 40$/day convenience fee collected by the hotel with the so called access to the business center and gym, it's true that I have 10$ credit in the convenience fee but I have to pay 7$ for 1l water (market price is 2$) and 3$ for a can of coca-cola or a small bag of chips. Even if the acess to the business center and gym is not automatically included in the hotel booking, that should be an option for the guest, not a forced payment for everyone. In another word, this fee shoud be a 'could' instead of a 'should'. For guest like us who spend a holiday with kids, we are here to avoid the business and if we need the gym, I don't need to cross the Atlantic and to do it in upper east side. The hotel is definitly taking advantage of their guest in this point and that makes me feel disgusting for a good hotel in NY. As long as this fee stands, I won't recommend to my friends and I definitely won't come back either.
