I had a last minute business arrangement in Amsterdam so I tried to book a hotel which was in the airport area and had the airport shuttle. I'm not very familiar with Amsterdam and had no time to spare so I trusted the information given by the hotel website/Expedia. Great mistake! The hotel is NOT in the airport area and they DO NOT run the airport shuttle. I arrived with my flight at night and I got my bag delayed so it was too late to get the train and I had to get a taxi: it resulted in a 68€ charge of taxi and the owner just told me I should have taken the train. I was mad at the owner and I told him he should modify his website, because it gives false and misleading information. He offered me a free ride to go back at the airport for my departure, but he didn't show any sign of undertanding and regret.
The next morning I HAD to take the train to go back to the airport and collect my delayed bag, because from the airport the couldn't schedule an appointment with the hotel. The problem was that they tried to call the hotel multiple time, but no one picked the phone, so they called me. In any case, to reach the airport you need two trains and a good ten-minute walking (almost an hour in total). To reach the center, is again two trains and a good ten-minute walking or 70 € of taxi charge.
Last but not least, as I arrived with no bag and thus no toiletry, I asked the owner if the hotel had a basic emergency toiletry. Of course they didn't have anything except basic soap.
