Beautiful Resort/ Poor Service
I recently stayed at the El Conquistador Resort, and while the property itself is stunning, my overall experience was underwhelming due to poor service and overpriced dining options.
Let’s start with the positives: the location is absolutely breathtaking. Perched on a hill with incredible views of the ocean, it’s the perfect getaway spot. The resort offers a wide range of amenities, including a beautiful pool, private island access. You’ll never run out of things to do, and the natural beauty of the surroundings makes it all the more enjoyable.
Unfortunately, the service was disappointing and didn’t match the quality of the setting. We didn't get into our room until 2 hours after check in time. There was numerous example of simple requests often required multiple follow-ups, and there was an overall lack of hospitality throughout the resort. It felt like the staff was overwhelmed or poorly trained, which negatively impacted the experience.
The food was another major letdown. While there are several dining options on-site, the meals were both overpriced and underwhelming. For the premium prices charged, I expected much better quality, and better service.
The resort fee (~$72/tax/day) was ridiculous steep for what I considered basic hotel services. it did not aniline include non motorized water sports, tennis/pickleball rentals, parking, or snorkeling rentals.
El Conquistador has so much potential thanks to its beautiful location and excellent amenities.
