I accidentally double-booked my stay and informed the hotel in advance. They acknowledged the situation and assured me it was fine. The following day, I reiterated that I was checking out early due to the double booking, and again, they said it was fine.
Later, I contacted Hotels.com to request a refund. However, when they reached out to the hotel, the hotel refused to issue one. Since I had already paid and they wouldn’t refund me, I decided to return to use the room for the night, only to find out they had resold it. So not only did they refuse a refund, but they also gave away the room I had paid for.
I got them on recording after confronting the front-desk person, and that's when they said they'd refund (still haven't got the refund). But I'll be using that video recording to get a refund either through my credit card or Hotels.com.
