The Amalfi Coast is only about 50 km in length but is one of the most popular travel destinations in Italy. It’s not hard to see why – the charming historical towns atop sheer cliffs, overlooking beautiful beaches and glittering seas, are undoubtedly attractive. So much so, in fact, that the area is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The hilly countryside along Italy's west coast is famous for producing the lemons that become limoncello – a potent liqueur.
