This is an absolutely beautiful historical hotel that has been well kept, but could definitely use some upgrades in the rooms for comfort.
The biggest issue we had was noise from outside (sirens, car noise, people being loud outside). The windows seem to do very little for noise reduction. Also frustrating was the heater which, even on the lowest setting, still left the room too warm. They use surge protectors which have bright LEDs on them, so we had to cover them with towels to get the room truly dark. Lastly, the exhaust fan for the bathroom just pushes the air from the bathroom into the room, not outside. Small inconveniences like the toilet handle being hard to reach because it is too close to the wall, and an awkward placement of the TP holder show lack of attention to detail.
Overall, I would consider staying here again. The drinks at the bar were very good and fairly priced. While we didnt get to try the food, the menu looked very good. This is an absolutely stunning hotel with rich wood throughout the lobby, restaurant, and bar. We used the Valet service which was fast and friendly. All staff we spoke with were kind and welcoming.
